As you might know, in SharePoint 2010 it is possible to switch the language of the user interface on the different screens. To use this feature, you have to install the appropriate language pack. When the language pack (or language packs) is installed, you can configure the option to switch the language in the Language settings of the Site Administration.

Because Central Administration is also a SharePoint site, you can configure this setting the same way. This enables you to switch the language of the user interface in the Central Administration.

Because we recommend to use English software in most installations (because we have English error messages, and it’s easier to google with these English messages), this is an ideal option for users, who are not so familiar with the English language.

SharePoint Central Administration is a solution in SharePoint technology. So we are able to use the same configuration options, as in other SharePoint applications.
